In my tests, this Westinghouse dual fuel generator did the best job on all fronts. The compact design of the Westinghouse iGen4500DF, along with its built-in wheels and adjustable handle, makes it easy to move. It's also portable and quiet enough to keep you connected while camping without ruining the peace of your campsite. Yet, it has the run time, dependability, and power to see you through outages at home.

The dual-fuel engine is designed to run on gasoline or propane, giving you the flexibility to adjust which you opt for based on availability or cost. Plus, the design includes variable engine speed. You are able to create only as much power as you need, when you need it, to get the most from the generator and fuel.

This generator offers a variety of different output types, giving it flexibility, and the inverter makes it safe to use for powering delicate electronics.

No product is without its drawbacks, though. While repair is covered under the standard company warranty, a low but notable number of units experience an automatic choke failure. My Westinghouse 4500 generator did not have this issue, but obviously, it’s not something anyone would like to deal with in a time of crisis. 

Nevertheless, this Westinghouse inverter generator has so many selling points that I can recommend it with a clear conscience!

I had to go for the bigger WGen generator as the second choice. Westinghouse WGen7500 Portable Generator, similarly to other Westinghouse products, was easy to assemble. The generator has a remote start which is a really good choice, as it made it so easy to use. 

Another plus is the fact that gas shutoff is easy to access, so there are no real challenges when it comes to operating this generator. As I expected it had no issues in producing power even with high surge loads. 

The only downside I can point out is that I found this generator is pretty loud, so keep that in mind. 

It is as good as the 5500W, so if you are looking for even more grunt check this one out. Of course, it is more expensive than the 5500W, so you should work out how much power you need before you decide about the purchase.

3. Westinghouse WGEN9500DF Dual Fuel Generator

The WGEN9500DF has one of the highest runtimes of generators available today. When I was testing it, it was operating at a 50% load, and it managed to run for 13 hours on a single tank. Overall this Westinghouse 9500 generator made a really good impression on me. 

Its dual-fuel system can produce power for up to 17.5 hours at a 25% load capacity. It’s also one of the most fuel-efficient generators for the amount of wattage it can produce, whether the fuel comes from the included steel 6.6-gallon gas tank or a 20-pound replaceable propane tank.

Two things you should be aware of before the purchase are that it is definitely a loud and heavy generator. It’s nothing extreme above the norm though, and thanks to its wheels, it is portable. You might just need some help with the transportation. It is a solid choice if you’re looking for something more powerful yet efficient.

The Westinghouse WGen3600 is perfect for camping, powering an RV or travel trailer, tailgating, and powering tools and equipment at locations without a power supply.

It’s one of the smaller generators on this list, but it is still quite heavy if you have to transport it without the wheel kit. Worth noting is also a fact that the Westinghouse 3600 generator is not very loud so it’s a good choice for camping and other outside activities. 

You can easily connect your recreational vehicles with a fitted TT-30 30A 120V outlet for reliable power. No adapters are required which makes this unit a camper’s best friend.

It is very easy to start (really anyone could do it), and it comes already assembled, so you can start using it immediately. Also, all outlets, the oil plug, and the oil fill/dipstick are clearly labeled and easy to access. From my experience, it’s an efficient generator (one of the best in this price range), so I can recommend it.

The Westinghouse iGen1200 has a lightweight and compact design, while still delivering high power output. Many (including me) fell in love with its slick and accessible design. It’s for sure a generator worth considering if you’re in the market for something smaller and incredibly quiet. 

It produces 1,000 Rated Watts and 1,200 Peak Watts, which is enough to power different home appliances, making it a good choice for emergency backup power, or for camping and other outdoor activities. It produces safe and clean power, so you can charge sensitive electronic devices.

It is very quiet, as low as 52 dba noise output, and is very fuel-efficient. It can run for up to 10 hours with a 0.8-gallon gas tank. In my book, it has no real downsides.

What’s really impressive is that it has the most efficient and quietest engine in its class. Great for the house and for your peace of mind.

The Westinghouse iGen 2500 is known for its super-quiet operation. Functioning with a volume as low as 52 decibels, the iGen 2500 is the righ choice for most of the day-to-day power needs as well as recreational activities. 

Thanks to its noise-canceling casing, the generator is astonishingly silent. You probably won’t even be able to hear that it’s running. You don’t have to worry about using this inverter generator in public outdoor spaces as it won’t disturb nearby people. It passed this test with flying colors.

It has a decent run time in its class, and a big plus is a fact that it is one of the affordable choices out there. It also gives you a lot of flexibility. Thanks to adjustable speed you can easily produce only the required amount of power. 

The biggest con is probably the lack of the wheel kit. It also has a manual recoil system which can be a downside when compared to a more user-friendly electrical start button.
