Company Information
Goal Zero Yeti was started germinating as an idea in the mind of Robert Workman in 2007. Workman founded the Teaching Individuals and Families Independence Through Enterprise humanitarian organization after a visit to the Democratic Republic of Congo. While there he saw first-hand the poverty that people had to deal with and he worked to help teach villages how to run sustainable businesses.
The company tested the GoBe, as it was then called, in the Democratic Republic of Congo in 2008. The GoBe is now known as the Yeti 150, and features a battery, solar panel and LED light. This simple tool brought light and safety to the villagers and also empowered them economically by making it possible for them to do more in the evenings when it was getting dark.
The Goal Zero Yeti business officially launched in June 2009. The mission then, and today, was to put reliable power into the hands of every human. The company mantra is Zero Apathy, Zero Boundaries, and Zero Regrets.
Goal Zero Yeti takes pride in its products and its mission, and this is reflected in their range, pricing, and even product support. The Goal Zero Yeti portable solar range is innovative, affordable and robust and is perfect for those who want to live an adventurous life while having solar tech that they can depend on. Portable power does not have to be expensive. Goal Zero Yeti puts power in the hands of those who need it.
