Unbelievably thankful
I’ve been so unbelievably thankful I have the EU7000is (Note there is a typo in your write up, you say EM5000SX).
Like your previous commenter, I’m going on three days straight so far (post Isaias). Projections are I’ll be going another four days before power. Not as bad as Puerto Rico had it, but for NJ, that’s a long time!
The 7000 is the iPhone of Generators (more expensive but worth every penny). Super quiet, super easy to use (I’m basically a novice), electric start with pull cord backup, runs my entire house (through an interlock switch) except for my massive AC units and Oven (but portable AC’s are fine).
The “18 hours on 25% load” is an important attribute for me, as that is sort of the right estimate for how often you’re going to need to refill the tank (at night, we barely use anything, just fans, chargers, and fridge/freezers of course, so we are indeed finding the refills to be around the 16-18 hour mark).
Love, love, love this machine. Was sitting in a box in my garage for 2-3 years until I decided, on a hunch, to unpack it right before Isaias hit. Thank goodness I did because it turns out you need to charge the 12V battery prior to first use, so I had time to get that done.
